1. The Beverly Hills Hotel — Beverly Hills
The pink landmark on Sunset with bungalows, a garden and the Polo Lounge.
The Beverly Hills Hotel, known as the Pink Palace, is the most recognizable hotel in the city. It sits behind palms on Sunset Boulevard with bungalows set around the gardens, a pool with a cabana scene and the Polo Lounge, which opened in 1941 and is still operating in 2026.
It is a splurge, and the setting is the point: stay for the old-Hollywood atmosphere, then use it as a base for Rodeo Drive and the Westside.
Good to know: Reserve the Polo Lounge or poolside cabanas ahead of time, as both fill quickly on weekends.
